Allego develops an architecture for a scalable EV cloud

A few years ago, Allego not only wanted to provide new charging stations, but also to offer more service. The IT department foresaw problems with scaling up the number of charging stations within the EV Cloud. Especially in view of current and future growth. In addition, Allego wanted to be able to continue to guarantee quality in addition to that growth. Something had to change and that's when TeamValue was flown in. The result? A set up BizDevOps process, the architecture for a scalable EV Cloud platform based on Cloud Best Practices and ISO 27001 certification. And all of that is recognisable to customers with a uniform customer experience on the portals and mobile apps.

We went for a real change in 'the way of working'. Working together makes us smart, entrepreneurship is our strength! Together with Marc Diks, Anton and Anouchka implemented the Agile method, the so-called 'Golden Path'at Allego; an even more efficient way of working. And that caught on!

While Justin kept Allego on the 'Golden Path' as a scrum master, Maurits guaranteed the agreements made in the designs and designs. Anouchka coached on the way of working and Anton on the IT process. Thanks to them, the IT values and standards have been firmly established. “This multidisciplinary approach has brought about the right changes. The result:

1. The ISO 27001 certification was one of the first in the market within one year, based on the Golden Path way of working.
2. The architecture is based on Cloud Best Practices and set up in micro-services to ensure the highest possible scalability and availability.
3. The IT operations department is set up based on Modern Service Management Principles and is guided by Secure Score, Mean Time to Repair and Uptime.
4. The Security Framework has been set up and implemented within all DevOps teams, with the help of monitoring alerting security incidents.
5. In addition to developing new functionality, the DevOps teams also provide operational support. They monitor the uptime of their applications themselves so that they are ahead of a downtime situation with early warnings.
6. The performance of the DevOps teams has been made structurally transparent using TeamNow dashboards.
7. New features for the EV Cloud are being rolled out in production several times a day with the help of 100% automated (CI/CD) releases.
8. The set up Scrum process started with three DevOps teams, and has been further scaled up to eleven DevOps teams.
9. The design of the EV Cloud portals and Corporate website was set up based on the desired User Experience in Sitecore.
