Stephan and Hendrik both started their new challenge at TeamValue during corona times. Why do they want to work in IT consultancy and a strong team? You can read it in this blog.

Working at TeamValue - We opted for the combination of IT consultancy and a strong team

November 10, 2024

Onboarding within the team

Stephan joined our team in early May. Hendrik got ahead of him and started two months earlier. In the middle of the 'Corona time'. “What actually appealed to you about your position? And why did you choose TeamValue?” , Hendrik asks Stephan. To which Stephan replies: “I found a click with the organization extremely important. You can do your job anywhere in the field of BI, but I think it's important to have a nice team and, in particular, the proposition to customers. That gives me confidence that cool projects are coming and that we are working on them together instead of alone, which is what you often see in secondment. So it's a conscious choice for me to work at a smaller organization that does real IT consultancy. I really like the personal approach! And what about you, really? Didn't you have a separate start in March?”

Hendrik: “I worked in the office for a total of nine days before we all walked away with our screens under our arms to set up our workspace at home after Rutte's speech. That took some getting used to, but cool to see how people switch quickly. Actually, my onboarding started even before I was on duty. I had already gone to the office on a Tuesday evening to attend a “technical evening” and had already spoken to several people from my network about TeamValue”.

“Working at Teamvalue? My work/life balance has certainly improved. It's only now that I really understand what OHANA means. We work hard, but we always do it together with the team. Even when we are on a consultancy assignment with a customer, we regularly have sparring moments with each other and we always come back to our home port in Zwolle on Fridays,” says Hendrik.

IT consultancy from our DNA

Recently, the men — and all the other colleagues — have been busy obtaining certifications. “Yes, for some assignments in our field, it's important to have the right certifications, but nowadays it's increasingly about really raising the question behind the question as a consultant,” says Hendrik. “Curiosity, want to keep learning? That just has to be in your DNA,” adds Stephan.

At TeamValue, we work on the basis of the Golden Path. The Golden Path is our answer to implementing BizDevOps properly. We love challenges and deliver what we promise. We bring business and IT closer together and ultimately make 'One Button Deploy' possible. “We always keep our principles in mind when implementing a new architecture,” says Hendrik. For Stephan, the difference also lies in being a real sparring partner for clients. What are their needs? Can I really become part of their team? Because yes, we can provide a 'Move to the Cloud' process for you, teach your team how to migrate to Azure DevOps and build a strategic report for you in PowerBI, but our work is only really successful if the client team soon knows how they can do it all themselves! That is IT consultancy from our DNA.

How we deliver value to organizations

“With what value will you join our team? It was one of the three questions I had to answer when I submitted my application via the website,” laughs Stephan. Think about how you match with the organization, watch team members' videos and get some information about how TeamValue is in the market within your network. That helped to form an overall picture of the organization. “'I get that. This is the only way to know whether you hire people who share the same values as you and therefore believe in, for example, the principles of The Golden Path to ensure that we also communicate that to our clients”.

“Three times left, is also right” adds Hendrik toe. Sometimes it's just a little different way of thinking. We stand for “Digital Business, Human Results”, because the two always need each other to be successful. We work with people in a world that revolves around technology. Companies often “sit” on more data than they think and want insight into patterns to be able to manage this in the future. As Xander always says so beautifully: drive forward by looking in the rearview mirror. We know how to connect the themes of Business Transformations, Business Intelligence and Business Critical Applications so that the IT landscape will work for you.

Stephan: “My experience is mainly in the field of Business Intelligence and The Modern Workplace. Together with colleague Xander, we are looking, among other things, at how we bring the KPMG and Humanitas team to the next phase of maturity in Business Intelligence”.
